Inkosi Langalibalele Mayor, Jabu Mbhele has visited all the communities in the municipality during her Integrated Development Plan (IDP) road shows.
This is an annual programme aimed at unveiling the plans of the municipality to the public as well as giving them the opportunity to participate in these plans.
The Inkosi Langalibalele IDP Mayoral Road Shows kicked off on March 18, where the Mayor and her councillors visited the Motel in Loskop.
Hundreds attended the event to listen to the Mayor. They were then given an opportunity to ask questions, raise their concerns, grievances and ideas.
The second visit was to take place at Ezitendeni in Weenen but it was disrupted. This happened after the ward councillor told the crowd that he was not informed about the gathering in his ward. The event had to be cancelled.
The last stop was in Ntabamhlophe last Thursday; where the Mayor highlighted that the residents should speak out and inform the municipality of the issues that need to be corrected in transforming their lives and the environment that they live in.
She also emphasised that efficient delivery of essential services will always be the fundamental driving force for Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality.
The municipality acknowledges the input and comments by various communities during these public consultations.
Those who did not get the opportunity to attend any of the road shows, especially the community of Weenen where the road show was disrupted, can still raise their concerns with their respective ward councillors. Their matters will be looked at for intervention.
