A stock thief will appear in court today (Monday, April 10) after being arrested by Elandslaagte Visible Policing Unit officers on Thursday.
The officers were conducting patrols in the Mtateni area and sourced valuable information concerning a stock thief in the area. They swooped on a residence, where they found three goats inside the house.
When questioned, the 61-year-old resident could not supply a reasonable explanation as to the origin of the animals.
A further search of the house turned up two bags of dagga.

The man was arrested and charged with possession of suspected stolen property, as well as possession of dagga.
The dagga weighed in at 13kg and has a street value of around R20,000.
The owner of the goats is being traced by police.
