Update: Ladysmith’s own haunted house has neighbours asking questions…
Maybe they are afraid of numerous reports of ghostly noises and sightings in what used to be the old Technical College, as well as the former home of an elite police unit

People living in the Golf Street area are complaining about an abandoned house in which they say many sinister activities take place at night.
Some go so far as to call it a “Haunted House”, claiming that they get goosebumps when they drive or walk past. The actual house is isolated among long grass and it’s easy to see why some think it has a scary appearance.
People say that sometimes they hear a commotion and strange noises coming from the house, especially at night. They claim to hear the cries of animals and children mysteriously emanating from the dilapidated abode.
The long grass surrounding the house makes it difficult to get a good look at the eerie structure, even during the day.
Aside from school-going teens evidently getting up to no good in the house, homeless people evidently sleep there at night. The latter also use it as their own personal toilet, urinating on the walls and turning the house into a dump.
A Ladysmith Gazette journalist went out to investigate and saw that people had been dumping their rubbish and clothes.

Cigarettes and food was found in the house.
It is believed that prostitutes lure customers there, as used condoms were also found.

“Why doesn’t the municipality or the owner of the house at least cut the long grass? Then it might be safer to walk in this area and we can see what’s going on in the house, or just demolish it,” says a concerned resident.
