A house was broken into a fortnight ago in Azalea Drive, leaving residents living in fear.
The Harripersadh family from Azalea Drive went away for a weekend and arranged with relatives to check up on their house and also feed the dog.
During the night or early hours of the morning, suspects gained access to the property by jumping over the gates. Mr Harripersadh said his dog is traumatised and appears to have been sprayed in the face with something.
The suspects broke into the house through a window, forcing open the burglar guards.
The robbers ransacked the house, emptying all the cupboards and stealing clothing and jewellery.
The thieves sifted through clothing and were selective in what they stole. Other items stolen included a flat screen TV, DVD system, hi-fi systems and even shoes.
Police responded to the scene and found numerous fingerprints in the house. A case of house robbery was opened.

The Harripersadh family is offering a reward to anybody who can help locate the stolen items or has information that could lead to arrests.
Angry residents say the bush on the banks of the Fourie Spruit was an ideal hideout for criminals, and urged the municipality to clear the overgrowth.
