UPDATE: Road rehabilitation to resume in Papkuilsfontein

"Due to internal delays, the continuation of the construction of the Papkuilsfontein main road was halted but it is anticipated that the construction will resume and be completed soon"

Finally, Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality has responded regarding the road works in Papkuilsfontein.

The road leading to the area was due for rehabilitation and in 2016, the municipality undertook this project.

However, since then the blacktop was scraped off, leaving behind a rocky gravel road, which residents have been using for months.

With no sign of the road works continuing, the Estcourt News enquired from the municipality about the progress of this project.

On Monday morning, Acting Municipal Manager Mrs Ndlela confirmed that the project was set to resume.

“Due to internal delays, the continuation of the construction of the Papkuilsfontein main road was halted but it is anticipated that the construction will resume and be completed soon,” she said.
