Ematsheni Police stand with the 15.2kg of dagga recovered in Zwelisha and Obanjanenei areas.

Two suspects aged 18 and 47 were arrested by Ematsheni police recently for being found in possession of dagga. The combined weight of the recovered dagga was 15.2 kg and has an estimated street value of R23 000.

The arrests were made in the Zwelisha and Obanjanenei areas of Ematsheni. Both the suspects appeared in the Bergville Magistrate’s Court last Friday.

A whopping 81 people have been arrested by police in the 16 police precincts under the Uthukela Cluster for drug-related cases since the beginning of April.

Just about 311kg of dagga and a small amount of cocaine and mandrax were seized during the arrests, which has a street value of about R 500 000.
