DANNHAUSER – Police arrested two men, aged 27 and 29-years-old, for fraudulent business operations in Dannhauser.
According to police reports, it is alleged the two men were operating a company by the name of Opportunities Investment, whereby they were taking money from people and promising them double interest. (e.g it is when you invest R500 you will then get another R500 within a week).
Police were notified of the illegal business and proceeded to confront the men. One of the suspects then produced a false business certificate, which was said to be clearly tampered with.
Police searched the premises and found a large sum of cash, a cash scanning machine, pamphlets and receipt books.
Both suspects will appear in the Dannhauser Magistrate’s Court soon.
