A vicious robber will spend the next 10 years in jail after stabbing a woman and stealing the tablet she was carrying.
The victim, a 19-year-old female from the Ezakheni area, was taking a stroll close to the cemetery in Ezakheni C3 Section one afternoon during August last year when an unknown man approached her and demanded the tablet she was carrying.
Slight hesitation from the woman saw her attacker pull out a knife, which he used to violently stab her in the arm.

He then ran off with the device.
A brave off-duty police officer from Ezakheni happened to witness the incident and without hesitation, the constable chased down the suspect. The robber was later arrested in C2 Section and the stolen device was also recovered.
The young woman was taken for medical attention while the suspect was detained at Ezakheni police station.
Bail was opposed by Sergeant Chamane of the Ezakheni Detective Service.
Xolani Perfect Nhlapho (19) was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment by the Ezakheni Regional Court on April 3. He was also found unfit to possess a firearm.
