Ichthus brings home gold from KZNCSSA
Ichthus is very proud of you all! Ichthus would like to thank all the teachers who assisted as officials and the parents who supported their children over the weekend.
On Friday, May 5, the Ichthus u/11 and u/13 winter sports teams travelled to Durban for the annual KZNCSSA winter sports tournament, which was held on the Friday and Saturday at Victory Christian Academy in Umhlanga.
Cross country, hockey, netball, rugby, soccer and volleyball were on the fixtures list over the two days, with the Ichthus teams performing beautifully against schools from Durban Central, Durban North and Durban South, Northern KZN and Northern Coastal.
After nail-biting finals, the following teams were awarded gold and silver medals:
Gold medals were awarded to u/13 Hockey Girls, u/13 Hockey Boys, u/13 Soccer Girls. The players in these teams were awarded KZNCSSA colours for these sports codes.
Silver medals were awarded to u/13 Netball Girls.
Seamus Stein came second in the u/8 boy’s cross country and was awarded a bronze medal.
