Snake man Fanie Cilliers quickly responded to the scene and safely removed the reptile.
According to Fanie, the snake was in the same place where residents had seen it and had not moved, as it was cold.
Fanie explained that it was on the pavement in the sun, trying to warm up from the cold night.
“The Puff Adder is one metre in length and is a male,” said Fanie
He added that the snake cannot be released at the moment due to the winter conditions and will be released during the first week of spring.

The weather has to be much warmer so that the snake can re-establish its habitat in a safe environment.
It is currently being well looked after by Fanie and will be taken care of during the cold winter months.
