Evangelist in town to transform Ladysmith youth
The team prayed for the youth for their individual needs and encouraged them to tap into the presence of God in order for them to have a real God-encounter
Over the weekend of May 12, Ladysmith saw evangelist Matthew Lee return to town with his team, ‘Transformed Youth SA’, to present their first ever Transformed Youth Conference. The conference was hosted by Cross Generation Full Gospel Church and held over the Friday evening and Saturday. The event was well attended by a large group of local youth, coming from a variety of schools and other church youth groups.
At the conference, on both days, the youth were given the opportunity to spend time praising and worshipping God, with a variety of contemporary gospel songs performed by Transformed Youth’s lead worship artist Ritchie Scheepers, who was accompanied by Cross Generation’s band.
On Friday night, Transformed Youth speakers Prince Daniel, Matthew Lee, Stephen van den Bergh and Calvin Mbonani inspired the youth by sharing their personal testimonies of how God has supernaturally transformed their lives.

On Saturday, the team motivated the youth by sharing a variety of practical, Biblical-based messages on how they can allow God to transform them to be all He created them to be.
The team also prayed for the youth for their individual needs and encouraged them to tap into the presence of God in order for them to have a real God-encounter. The conference was concluded with a bring and braai and a lucky draw, where everyone attending walked away with a variety of gifts.
“I believe that the conference was a great success,” says Matthew Lee. “The youth appeared to really enjoy the event and our messages were certainly well received. Most importantly, they had an opportunity to experience and encounter the presence of God, which I believe is the key to sealing Him in their hearts – to not only hear about God, but to also be able to know that He is real! From this place of receiving God and knowing He is real, they can allow Him to radically transform their lives from the inside out.”
The young evangelist also mentioned that “the event was an amazing experience for myself and the entire team, and consequently we’ve decided that we’re going to move forward from this conference to take Transformed Youth around the country. There’s a massive Christian revival that has begun in South Africa and the purpose of Transformed Youth is to bring this revival to the youth of South Africa – the next generation of on-fire-for-God leaders!”
