18-year-old business robber apprehended in Dannhauser

According to police reports, the owners of the shop heard a banging noise outside their shop at around 1am. Upon investigation, they found the suspect and his two accomplices entering the shop.

DANNHAUSER – Police arrested an 18-year-old man for a business robbery which occurred at a store on Koppie Alleen farm, Dannhauser on May 17.

According to police reports, the owners of the shop heard a banging noise outside their shop at around 1am. Upon investigation, they found the suspect and his two accomplices entering the shop.

The perpetrators allegedly shot their firearm, and demanded the keys to the safe. After being denied the keys, the men used a hammer to break open the safe and stole cash, airtime, cigarettes a cellphones to the value of R30 000 whereafter they fled the scene.

The victims summoned the police who arrested on of the culprits and recovered some of the loot.

The suspect is believed to appear in the Dannhauser Magistrate’s Court soon.

The police are conducting further investigations to determine whether the suspect is linked to other business robberies in the Dannhauser area.
