Notorious ‘Blackdevil’ finally behind bars

LOCALS who were following the story of the arrest of notorious criminal, Senzo ‘Blackdevil’ Buthelezi, will be relieved to know he has been sentenced to 38 years imprisonment.

Buthelezi was initially arrested in 2012 for 21 cases, including two counts of murder, two of rape and for defeating the ends of justice for having escaped prison in 2014.

The man and two of his accomplices escaped custody while they were being taken to court in May 2014.

The ordeal left many community members in panic as the police released strict warnings for all locals to be extremely cautious and to avoid being outside late in the evening as these men were very dangerous.

Buthelezi was the leader of a group of criminals that is said to have been living in the dumpsite area.

He is said to have killed a man from Nondweni, on suspicions that he was having an affair with his girlfriend and killed a 22 year-old man the next day, after an argument.

He was given 15 years each for the murder cases and eight years for both rape cases.

The magistrate pointed out how sad it was to see that none of the people who had been murdered had done anything to provoke this man.

There was crying all around the courtroom as family members remembered the sad passing of their loved ones at the hands of “Blackdevil.”
