Dannhauser SAPS mourn the tragic loss of one of their own

He died instantly when he was hit by a vehicle while attending to another accident on the Dundee-Dannhauser road

The Dannhauser Police are mourning the tragic death of one of their own. Constable Nkosinathi Innocent  Buthelezi (39), who was fondly known as Nduna, died instantly when he was hit by a vehicle while attending to another accident on the Dundee-Dannhauser road late on Thursday.
Sgt ML Nyembe, Dannhauser Police spokesman, told the Courier that Constable Buthelezi and Constable Mdlalose were at the accident scene, in which two vehicles were involved, at about 10pm.
“While assisting at the scene, another vehicle travelling at a high speed from the Dundee side, hit Constable Buthelezi who died on the scene. The driver of the vehicle was immediately arrested. It is suspected the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He will appear in Court on Monday and the investigation is continuing,” an emotional Sgt Nyembe said.
Constable Buthelezi, who is from Mafusini, Dannhauser, had nine years service in the SAPS and had worked in his hometown since 2007. s funeral is expected to be on the next weekend.
“We would like to convey our condolences on the passing on of our colleague. Constable Buthelezi who died while he was performing his duties,  The member was very dedicated to his duties and he recently played a very important role in arresting a suspect in a business robbery which took place at Koppie-Allen” said  Dannhauser SAPS Acting Station  Commander, Captain AM Vilakazi. May his soul rest in peace”
