15 people appear in court on public violence charges

The suspects are 11 males aged between 19 and 47, and 4 females aged between 29 and 41

15 people appeared in the Bergville Magistrate’s Court  yesterday morning (Monday, May 29) after having been arrested for public violence.

On Thursday, a group of around 150 people blockaded a road at Greenpoint, Bergville, using burning tyres and large stones.

The road was inaccessible to road users.

Police were called in and 15 people were arrested on public violence charges.
