Housebreaking and theft
On May 19 at 5pm the complainant closed his shop at 7 Good Hope Street, Dundee. When he returned the next day the following items were stolen: a car stereo, speakers, grinder and a set of loose wires. The estimated value was R5 700. Entrance was gained through the roof. A case has been opened, fingerprints were taken and the suspect is unknown at this stage.
On May 23 at 2:30pm the complainant noticed that a window was removed in order to gain entrance. The following items were stolen: DVD player, amplifier, cell phone and shirts with an estimated value of R3 900. Fingerprints were taken and the docket is under investigation.
The complainant left his house on Smith Street at 8am on May 26. Upon returning he discovered that the door handle of his bedroom was damaged.
The following items were stolen: LG home theatre, travel case, Nokia cell phone and groceries. Total value was R2 122.20. Two suspects have been arrested, Bheki Mbatha (27) and Thabiso Sibisi (22). They appeared in court on May 29.

Another burglary plague hits Dundee
On May 27 at 4am the complainant was woken up by a shuffling sound in his kitchen. When he checked, he saw four men running out of the gate. They allegedly stole an Omega DVD, amplifier, remote control and cushions, estimated at R1 600. A case was opened and fingerprints were taken. No arrests have been made yet.
On May 28 a house in Sibongile was broken into and a JVC flat screen (black in colour) was stolen. It was at valued at R12 000. Entrance was gained through the lounge window.
A case has been opened and it is under investigation.
Dundee SAPS has urged the community to assist the police by reporting all those who are found selling all the above mentioned stolen items on 034 299 9700. It’s not important to disclose your details when reporting criminal activities.
