Taxi gathering ‘was nothing to do with protest action’

The taxis made their way down Union Street before heading for Nyanyadu.

A large gathering of taxis near Dundee Toyota this morning had motorists wondering if the taxi protests seen in Durban this week had spread to Dundee.

But, no.  The taxis, most of them being NDH registered, had gathered near AmaThole Funeral Services to escort the body of the son of Nyanyadu taxi operator, Mr Sibeko, whose funeral is being held this weekend.

The taxis made their way down Union Street before heading for Nyanyadu.
