CRIME: Elderly man robbed of SASSA card on Scott Street
Both suspects were caught and arrested.
Two men were arrested for robbery after they robbed an elderly man of his SASSA card on Scott Street on June 1.
The incident was reported to Newcastle 911 Community Policing Forum and a brief description was given of the suspects.
After viewing CCTV footage, members set out to find the suspects, which led them to a shopping complex.
The two suspects were followed and with the help of Ithemba Security, both suspects were caught and arrested.
