Soup evening fundraiser for Shepstone Place

Some claimed the pea and ham was the best, while others hard a hard time deciding between the butternut or chicken and mushroom soup

One of the most anticipated fundraisers held by Shepstone Place during the winter season is their annual Soup Evening.

Locals kept empty stomachs as they made their way to the Shepstone Place Home for the Aged and Frail on Saturday.

Locals enjoy the ultimate winter warmer at Shepstone Place.

In the dining area, friends and family socialised over a warm cup of soup while others opted to try the homemade jams and breads. The attendees queued for their favourite soups. Some claimed the pea and ham was the best, while others hard a hard time deciding between the butternut or chicken and mushroom soup.

There was no limit; you could try all if you pleased.

Mickey and Robin Hunter Smith had a serving of hearty soup to help fundraise.

The scrumptious soups and the warm sociable atmosphere made for a lovely evening for all.

“Our annual soup evening was very disappointing due to the lack of support. However, those of us who attended had a great evening,” said Shepstone Place Committee Chairlady Sheryl Lane.

The committee will assess at their next meeting whether this kind of fundraiser is still viable.
