Two suspects were arrested for robbery and ATM fraud after they targeted an elderly man in Scott Street on June 1.
The victim was robbed of his SASSA card. The incident was then reported to Newcastle 911 Community Policing Forum, and a brief description of the suspects was given.
After viewing CCTV footage, 911 members set out to find the suspects.
They were led to a shopping complex, where the two suspects were followed.
With the help of Ithemba Security, both suspects were caught and arrested.
