June has barely begun, and already Newcastle 911 Community Policing Forum has their hands full with successful arrests;
June 8 – A few weeks ago, there was a break-in at a business in Hathorn Street. Newcastle 911, Newcastle SAPS and a local security firm managed to arrest the seventh and final suspect.
June 9 – Members were informed of a woman who was robbed of her cellphone in the CBD. Newcastle 911 members worked tirelessly together with police, and managed to arrest the suspect.
June 10 – Members promptly responded to a collision scene, where a vehicle collided with a tree in Sutherland Street. The necessary emergency services were contacted, and within minutes, the victim was treated for serious injuries before being taken to hospital to receive further medical treatment.
June 10 – A Newcastle 911 member was involved in an incident where their vehicle collided with a wild bush pig on the Chelmsford Road. Members responded to the scene, and both occupants of the vehicle were unharmed.
