“The Saturday morning was all about workshops,” recalls Marina. “Our students enjoyed Hip Hop and Contemporary workshops from professional dance teachers in the industry. They learned a huge amount of choreography and enjoyed every moment of it. These students gave their all and at the end of the night Megan, Kayla and Caity danced in the SADI Showcase, where the judges choose students during the dance awards to perform in the Showcase, showing off only the best dance duets, trios and groups that performed during the week.”

Megan de Beer and Kayla Becker also did their Federation Colours and both students received their Federation Colours in Modern Jazz Dance. Megan got a phenomenal 89 percent and Kayla was not far behind with a fantastic 84 percent.
At the end of the night SADI chose students to travel with their SA Team to Dubai in 2017. The students will travel to Dubai to attend various dance classes, workshops and do some sightseeing.
Amid tears of joy at the announcement, Clarissa Scheepers, Samantha Lawarne, Mieke van der Walt, Kayla Becker, Megan de Beer and Caity Scheepers, were all selected to be a part of the SA Team, as this was the first SADI Competition for some of the students and being chosen for the team is a tremendous accomplishment.
As well as many other accolades, Megan de Beer was awarded the Studio 7 Teen Trophy, shared with another student, for achieving the highest percentage during the week for her solo performances.
“No words can describe how proud I am of each and every student that worked so hard in class, taking every correction and making it perfect,” states Marina. “Your passion, love and hard work gives you the best results!”
“I would just like to thank Megan out of the bottom of my heart for all her hard work with helping to teach solo classes and assisting me in the Dance-Ed Syllabus exam work,” she adds. “Your hard work, passion and love for dance shows in the results. Without you, I would have been lost.”
“Thank you also to each and every parent who believes in their children,” she concludes. “Without you, your children’s dreams would not be possible.”
Stepping Out students are currently working on their Showcase, which will be coming up in the near future and looks set to be an unmissable event.
