Rampant crime throughout the suburbs of Dundee has left residents feeling unsafe in their own homes. Some who spoke to the Courier from Strathmore Park said they are even reluctant to leave their homes, fearing the brazen thieves will strike.
Burglaries have been reported in Strathmore Park, Craigieburn, Mpati area and in other suburbs.

There was even an attempt to break into flat (Oakdene) complex premises on Tandy Street when thieves removed a section of the precast wall. Nothing was stolen.
There was also an attempt today to break into the manse at the NG-Kerk Suid on Fouche Street. Again, it appears as if the attempt was unsuccessful.
Residents have spoken of two ‘suspicious’ vehicles travelling around – one a white Audi (which did have at one stage NUF plates) and a grey Audi. It is not clear if the same or vehicle was involved in an attempted hijacking on the Hattingspruit road.
Police are yet to confirm any arrests.
