Egerton Primary held their annual Polar Bear Swim on Thursday (June 29) at the school swimming pool.

This event sees ‘daring’ children swimming a length of the icy-cold pool in the middle of winter.

Some of the teachers were even brave enough to swim, along with the learners.

The children were urged to bring along any dog or cat food or donations for the Animal Anti-Cruelty League for them to participate in the swim.

As a reward for their efforts and bravery, all the swimmers were given a cup of lovely hot chocolate to warm them up again as they stood shivering in their towels.
