AbaQulusi’s Water Department is still busy with repairs to the burst pipe at the Klipfontein Water Works.
Repairs were expected to be completed last night, but air trapped in the pipes created a further challenge.
Foreman at the Water Department, Bonginkosi Khanyile, said officials are working hard to ensure that water supply is restored today.
“We expect to complete the repairs by lunch time today, and then we will start the pumps. However, the reservoir is empty. Residents will see running water through their taps later this evening when it fills up again,” said Mr Khanyile.
DA councillor, Alta de Kock commended the Water Department for their hard work.
