Angry mob brutally assaults goat thieves in Ladysmith

It is believed that the thieves are from Ezakheni and have been selling the goats in Ekuvukeni

Three men were badly injured after being brutally attacked by the community of Area J, Steadville, today (July 11) after they were caught with stolen goats.

For a few weeks now, community members have noticed that a white Toyota Tazz has been driving in and out of a goat kraal in the afternoons. Upon closer observation, they realised that these men had been stealing goats that are kept in a kraal behind an industrial building.

It is believed that the thieves are from Ezakheni and have been selling the goats in Ekuvukeni.

After seeing the Toyota Tazz again going towards the kraal today, community members quickly gathered together and set a trap for the suspected goat thieves.

They stopped the car and found goats that were being stolen. That’s when the beating began…

The driver managed to escape as the angry mob attacked the remaining three men, leaving them critically injured.

The three men were transported to hospital and police are still hunting for the fourth man.
