THE Soul Buddyz at Impumelelo Yethu Primary School organised a surprise birthday party for centenarian, Mr Mthembu, who is the pastor at the Zion church.
Mr Mthembu celebrated his 100th birthday on Friday.
The Buddyz visited him in order to recognise the importance of senior citizens in the community.
During the unexpected visit, they found him sleeping under warm blankets and beddings.
They awarded him the ‘Uphaphe Legwala Gwala’ to show their appreciation for having such a mature and knowledgeable person in the community.
The Buddyz sang and danced with ‘grandfather’ and Mr Mthembu offered them a prayer in return for their kindness.
