Man murdered and dumped in Kiel Kiel Farm, Dannhauser

This is the second murder in the same area in the space of two months

Two men aged 25 and 27-years-old have been arrested and charged with the murder of Bheki Mntambo (24) of Kiel-Kiel Farm, Dannhauser.

Mr Mntambo was murdered on the evening of July 30. His body was found lying in an open veld near his home the following morning at about 7am. It is believed that he was struck with a hard object to the head and body. Police believe the motive for the killing is revenge as Mr Mntambo had previously been in a fight with one of the accused.

The two men from Thirst Farm (Emfundweni), appeared in the Dannhauser Magistrate’s Court on August 3 and their case has been remanded to August 7.

“This is not the first incident of this nature. Two months ago, Nathi Vilakazi (25) was brutally murdered and his body was dumped in an open veld in the same area,” said Dannhauser Police Communications Officer, Sergeant Nyembe.

“We would like to assure the people of Kiel-Kiel that we will continue to fight any criminal activities in the area and that crime will be brought down to zero. I also like to thank the community for working together with the police and providing us with information regarding criminal activities in the area.”
