KZN Premier hands over houses

The new home was built in the Bhekuzulu area as a joint initiative between the Al-Imdaad Foundation and the municipality

Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Willies Mchunu visited the uThukela District on Sunday. During the visit, the Premier joined the Al-Imdaad Foundation, Operation Sukuma Sakhe and the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality, to hand over a fully furnished home to senior citizen Fikile Regina Ndlovu.

The new home was built in the Bhekuzulu area as a joint initiative between the Al-Imdaad Foundation and the municipality. It brought great relief to Gogo Ndlovu who had been struggling for years after the death of her husband. The Premier honoured the official handing over of the keys to Gogo Ndlovu along with other local, district and provincial officials and senior Al-Imdaad Foundation figures.

Food parcels were also handed over to Gogo Ndlovu during the event. Al-Imdaad Foundation Local Projects Co-ordinator Waseem Mohamed said: “The foundation built the house from the beginning and to hear the appreciation and joyfulness from Gogo Ndlovu was very emotional for all who were present.”
