Motorcycle, trailers thieves out in force
Locals who shop at the Newcastle Mall are warned to be on the look out for car thieves that prowl around in the parking lot.

The theft of motorcycles and trailers is on the increase and police have warned owners to take extra precautions.
The scourge that first surfaced 18 months ago has hit Dundee, where a motorcycle was stolen from Reynolds Street over the weekend, and Newcastle.
There have also been reports of trailer theft. Trailers have been stolen from Dundee, Glencoe, Dannhauser and Newcastle in recent weeks.
Locals who shop at the Newcastle Mall are warned to be on the look out for car thieves that prowl around in the parking lot. Police said that after 4.30pm there are no car guards in the parking lot and that the CCTV camera system is not technically sound to assist police identify and catch thieves.
Older models parked near the parking near the Checkers store are especially vulnerable, police said.
