Fire at flat in Murchison Street, Ladysmith

It took the brave, fast-acting firefighters a matter of minutes to extinguish the flames

A fire broke out at a flat in Murchison Street this morning (August 22).

The Ladysmith Fire Department responded, as well as other emergency officials.

The fire started in the lounge, destroying the sofas and other items in the room.

It took the brave, fast-acting firefighters a matter of minutes to extinguish the flames.

No one was injured.

With the fire extinguished, all the windows were opened to let out the smoke that had built up inside the flat.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
