A celebration of women

The Al-Imidaad Foundation gave 30 walking sticks to the senior citizens

Submitted by Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality
On August 15 and 22 the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Task Team (LTT) visited two wards. This included Ward 15 at the Bhekabezayo area and Ward 3.

The team visited these wards to celebrate Women’s Month. Their aim was to tackle crime, poverty, illness, women abuse and to deliver government services. This initiative marks the anniversary of the great women’s march of 1956.

The Mayor and Champion of the LTT Councillor Jabu Mbele spoke to the women of Ward 15 about what it takes to be a successful woman. One needs courage, determination and vision, she shared.

With the stresses and pressures of everyday life, women need to be encouraged, supported, motivated and inspired to continue pushing onwards and upwards.

The Mayor was accompanied by the Ward Councillor and other councillors. In ward three Councillor Mpembe together with other councillors visited Ward one and Ward six.

The Al-Imidaad Foundation gave 30 walking sticks to the senior citizens. Residents in other wards received sanitary packs. Both councillors thank the Al-Imdaad Foundation for the donations and thanks the government departments for delivering services to the communities.
