Spring has sprung at the Paddadam

Mayor Sibiya certainly proved that he is a man who is not afraid of getting his hands dirty to get the job done and so did Cllr de Kock.

MAYOR Jerry Sibiya, accompanied by Cllr Alta de Kock, as well as AbaQulusi councillors and Paddadam committee members, visited the Paddadam last Friday, spades in hand, to plant trees along the banks of the dam for Spring.

Mayor Sibiya certainly proved that he is a man who is not afraid of getting his hands dirty to get the job done and so did Cllr de Kock as they got hands on in the planting of the Koorsbome that will eventually provide shade along the banks of the popular recreational park.

Linda de Jager and Peggy Beetge from HiS Caring Angels were also present and planted trees as a gesture of giving even more back to the community than they already do.

“The Municipal Manager has bought one tree and the Mayor has bought 10 trees out of their own pockets!,” wrote Doug Grewar on social media. “This shows a very positive support for the Paddadam Project.”

Doug has been an absolute stalwart in the renovation of the Paddadam since the inception of the project back in 2014.
