Dumbe pound damaged: AfriForum engages with NCP

The newly-built pound in Paulpietersburg has already been vandalised.

THE civil rights watchdog, AfriForum, sent a request to the National Council of Provinces (NCP) on August 30 regarding the vandalising of the newly-built pound in Paulpietersburg.

This follows numerous requests from AfriForum to TV Mkhize, Municipal Manager, and SJ Kunene, the Mayor, to intervene.

“Stray cattle are becoming a major problem for Paulpietersburg’s residents and it is unacceptable that the pound (that was built as a solution to this problem) is being allowed to be demolished by vandals,” says Eugene van Aswegen, AfriForum’s Provincial Coordinator for KwaZulu-Natal.
