GALLERY: The fire and the aftermath

Clean-up operations started this morning at the Kwa-Rie Caravan Park, where a devastating fire broke out yesterday.

Family and friends of the Du Plooys have rallied around to assist them with cleaning up the area.

The Du Plooy’s home was burnt down in the blaze.

The aviary,which was situated next to the house, thankfully did not go up in flames.

A parrot and all but two ring necked doves, miraculously survived the heat.
