PREVIEW: Hutten Park Primary School learner laid to rest after tragic death

“How is a mother supposed to go on after losing her child?”

On the afternoon of Thursday, September 7, Latifah Ntombela was playing in a friendly game of soccer, when she allegedly complained of dizziness and requested a drink of water.

Moments later, the teen lost consciousness and fell to the floor.

Her fierce, bubbly and friendly presence will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Didi said her daughter loved laughing and had the most contagious laugh.

“How is a mother supposed to go on after losing her child?”

This was the question of despair and agony asked by Latifah’s mother, Dhilsad (better known as Didi) Ntombela.

“She loved laughing and she had the most contagious laugh. I would often tell her it wasn’t a very lady-like laugh. She was a very social person who loved people and loved making people happy.”

Young Latifah was laid to rest the following day, alongside her grandmother who passed away in May this year.

“My daughter always said she would want to be buried next my mother. We respected her wishes, and she now rests with my mom in Heaven,” said Didi.
