Dundee’s Heritage – Orange Grove and Talana Museum

A peep into Orange Grove and a glimpse at the Homecoming Exhibition at Talana

Nine months and 9000 man hours later, Pam McFadden and her team – including the volunteer researchers – have produced a display the residents of the area can be truly proud of.
The Dundee Homecoming Exhibition at Talana Museum portrays the Dundee area’s remarkable rich history, its colourful people of all communities who to quote Museum Board Trustee Malan Nel, ‘het ‘n merkwaardige indruk in die omgewing gemaak’.
The musicals produced and featuring Wendy Elliott, Molly Pringle, Evan Jones, former Mayoress, Anna Ware, and many others, are reflected in the ‘mini theatre’ which is part of the display, complete with a sound track courtesy of those old 33 and a third long playing vinyls!

The Courier, of course which celebrated its centenary in 1999, is also very much part of the display. A must-see for all in the area!
