This is as a result of a head-on collision between a car and a sport utility vehicle (SUV).

Paramedics and emergency personnel arrived at the scene at about 1.34pm.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring explains what they were met with: “Upon closer inspection, paramedics found the light motor vehicle in the centre medium while the SUV had come to a stop in the middle of the road. Debris from both vehicles was spread across the entire section of the road.

When paramedics inspected the vehicles, they found to men lying trapped and motionless in the light motor vehicle. Two women were also found lying trapped and motionless in the front of the SUV. A third woman was found lying outside the vehicle a short distance away.

Unfortunately, all four patients had already succumbed to their multiple injuries. Nothing more could be done for them and they were declared dead.
