MUST READ: W/O Naidoo’s alleged killer awaits admission to Fort Napier Hospital

W/O Naidoo passed away on June 29, as a result of a stab wound to his inner thigh after being called out to attend to a complaint in Madadeni Section 7 on the afternoon of June 27.

The 59-year-old suspect allegedly responsible for the death of Warrant Officer Sascha Naidoo, recently appeared before a Magistrate’s Court.

However, the case was once again postponed until next year, pending an admission date to the Fort Napier Mental Institution.

According to police reports, it was advised the suspect be referred to Fort Napier for mental evaluation before being put on trial for the murder.

Fort Napier Hospital is located in Pietermaritzburg, and is categorised as a Specialised Hospital serving only mentally challenged clients.

W/O Naidoo passed away on June 29, as a result of a stab wound to his inner thigh after being called out to attend to a complaint in Madadeni Section 7 on the afternoon of June 27.

It is believed the 59-year-old suspect stabbed W/O Naidoo with a spear (assegai) after stabbing his own grandmother just hours earlier.

The suspect will remain in police custody until he is transferred to the institution.
