Snow fell in higher lying parts of the Drakensberg overnight, including the Southern Drakensberg near Underberg, Swartberg and Cathedral Peak.

In parts of KwaZulu-Natal and South Africa, heavy rains have been causing extensive damage.

The death toll in KZN after the torrential rains is five fatalities.
