A courier company was robbed of over R1.5m worth of goods from a warehouse opposite a hostel in the Egerton area this morning (October 19).
A 68-year-old man (employee) was opening the store when heavily-armed men stormed in. It is believed that the robbers assaulted the elderly man.
They then ransacked the place and stole a large quantity of goods.
It is estimated that the goods are worth close to R1.5 million.

A nearby resident heard noises and went to investigate. He was spotted by one of the robbers and held at gunpoint. He was then forced back into his flat. The robber stole his cell-phone and car keys before locking him inside his own flat.
The group of armed men then fled the scene in four vehicles, kidnapping the elderly employee.
A green double-cab with ND registration, two Toyota Fortuners (SUVs) with NKR registration and a white Audi (registration unknown) were used as getaway vehicles.
The armed robbery was only discovered an hour later by fellow employees of the courier company.
Police have launched a massive manhunt for the suspects and the elderly man.
