WhatsApp location sharing function: should cheating spouses be worried?

Do I really want my boss, spouse or parents to know where I am? This is an opinion piece

WhatsApp’s new feature, Live Location sharing, could be seen as both a positive and a negative…

Live Location is a simple and secure way to let people know where you are, say WhatsApp.

But that could be a double-edged sword, as a simple request from your employer, partner, spouse or parents about where you are could lead to an awkward moment or two.

With end-to-end-encryption that lets you control who you share your location with, you have some security and added to that, you can choose to stop sharing at any time or let the Live Location timer just expire.

To use the feature, all you do is, when chatting to a contact, you hit the attach file icon and you will see location sharing.
