Brick hurled at councillor’s vehicle near Ladysmith

Police are investigating a case of malicious injury to property

On Wednesday evening (October 18), Councillor Abbas Warasally was travelling towards Ladysmith from the Ezakheni area along Protea Drive when his vehicle was struck by a brick.

The vehicle sustained damage to its bonnet.

At this stage, no one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

“I believe that they hit your car and if you stop, you are robbed or hijacked. This road is becoming very dangerous. Last week, someone was shot on the same road. Motorists should stop using that road after sunset, and more visible policing should be put in place on this road to reduce crime,” says Cllr Warasally.
