PREVIEW: Gcinile earns her degree amid stacked odds

Gcinile Myza came to Newcastle about 16 years ago, employed as a domestic worker to provide for three sons back home in Nongoma.

Gcinile Myza is a beacon of determination amid trying circumstances.

When she came to Newcastle 16 years ago, her only concern was earning a stable income.

To provide for her three sons, Gcinile took up employment as a domestic worker.

For many women in similar situations, this is where the story ends.

Yet it wasn’t quite over for her.

“To those who are without hope, it’s not over until God says it is over.”

She qualified with a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree this year.

To her, this is God’s hand at work in her life.
