Premier’s imbizo brings hope back to Weenen

The KwaZulu-Natal Premier Willies Mchunu met with the Chief of Khoisan Raymond Trollip on October 20, to discuss the issues around Khoisan community and their well-being.
He then visited a farm in Weenen that featured Khoisan paintings. Later the Premier met with all traditional leaders and the municipal council in Weenen to discuss their role in addressing societal issues.

On Saturday, the Premier held an imbizo at the tennis court in Weenen. The aim of this event was to respond to the issues that were raised by Weenen and surrounding communities in 2013.
Mr Mchunu provided feedback on how government departments have intervened in the issues that were raised and also reported on progress of all the projects that were implemented.

The community was then afforded an opportunity to further raise any additional development issues and they were noted by all stakeholders concern.
Residents also expressed relief and happiness when the Premier together with the Transport MEC Mxolisi Thomas Kaunda and other leaders switched on lights in the rank and visited their stores.
