PREVIEW: Raphah sows the seeds of sustainability
Raphah is pursuing financial independence through its latest initiative - using eggshells to nurture a homegrown harvest.
Raphah continues to claim financial independence through various in-house projects.
It’s latest ‘eggshell initiative’ could well be a game-changer.
By growing its own crop of fruits and vegetables, Raphah management is positive about the organisation’s future despite the direst of circumstances.
Pastor, Gerd Luus said the initiative was about collecting eggshells for gardening projects.
“This includes growing vegetables and fruit to sustain the feeding needs of residents.”
Residents themselves were involved in upkeep and nurturing of the gardens.
This had already provided food on a small scale.
For the full details of Raphah’s project, read the story in this week’s Newcastle Advertiser.
The latest edition is on shelves from Thursday.
