Support for Ramaphosa falters in AbaQulusi
Things seem to be getting heated as December draws nearer and the ANC has to choose its new leader.
THE STRUGGLE to come out tops still continues between the ANC’s Cyril Ramaphosa and Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma with Ramaphosa said to be leading in AbaQulusi.
According to Councillor Lawrence Dube, who is also the campaigner for Cyril Ramaphosa in AbaQulusi, it seems that Ramaphosa’s hopes for a win to become party president has been left up to Northern KZN.
“Outside northern KZN, the Lower South Coast Region is the only region where we are hoping for a good performance,” said Cllr Dube.

“Because of these regions, we are looking at at least 500 delegates, or there will be a 50/50 with them, or we will be slightly bigger than them or they will be slightly bigger than us,” Cllr Dube went on.
In the far north of the province the leaders are said to be neck and neck.
With Ramaphosa having visited some of the towns in AbaQulusi to campaign, Cllr Dube seems certain that they are leading as 36 branches have already sat.
By November 2, 247 branches had nominated Dlamini Zuma, Ramaphosa by 69 and ANC treasurer-general Zweli Mkhize by only two.
Things seem to be getting heated as December draws nearer and the ANC has to choose its new leader.
Cllr Dube was re-elected as the chairperson of the branch and remains sturdy in his work to grow support for Cyril Ramaphosa
