Estcourt Kumon Study Centre learners excel

Congratulations to all the learners who achieved these levels in 2017

The Estcourt Kumon Study Centre held its annual prize giving function to honour all the hard working students.

Working above grade level is a very important goal for learners who are studying on the Kumon programme. Kumon is raising the bar for all learners and encouraging them to develop the skill of self-learning as soon as possible.

Students working above their school level: from back: Yusuf Shaik, Carli Strauss, Kirav Sudeen, Muhammed Amaan Wasgrey, Azhar Mahmoud, Lene Strauss, Yazleen Bidezi, Yusha Shaik, Rishaine Jagdev and Leyash Kewalperasad.

The first goal is to reach Kumon International Standard or KIS, which is a level that is pitched at the international accepted skill level for all learners on a particular grade.

This level is substantially higher than the current school grade level in South Africa. Once a learner has achieved KIS, their next goal will be to achieve ASHR, which entails studying way above their grade level.

Congratulations to all the learners on their hard work throughout the year.
