In the early hours of Tuesday morning (January 30), community members from the Umhlumayo area of Ezakheni alerted police that a group of suspects were allegedly stealing livestock in the area.
When police arrived at the scene, they arrested four men aged between 27 and 34.
The suspects had already been assaulted by angry community members.

An R1 assault rifle with 12 rounds of ammunition and 13 goats were found in their possession.
A case docket was opened the same day at Ezakheni police station, and the suspects appeared in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Thursday, February 1).
The men face a charge of being in possession of suspected stolen property and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
