UPDATE: Male pedestrian dies on scene in Loskop Road

Paramedics had a pulse, but the man succumbed to the severity of his injuries

Sadly the male in his 60’s who was knocked down in Loskop Road has just died on scene.

He was knocked down by a female driver a short while ago  outside the local Traffic Department.

The woman said on scene that she tried to avoid the pedestrian who was crossing the road but sadly, as she veered to avoid him, the vehicle knocked into him.

A witness on scene said that the impact of the collision sounded like a gunshot.

Paramedics on scene worked tirelessly for about 15 minutes to resuscitate the man but unfortunately he was pronounced dead a short while ago.

The man was fondly remembered by community members on scene who recalled how he would make a breakfast stop at their place of business each morning.

 

The man’s name has not been officially released until his next of kin have been informed.
